Fire-Retardant Titanium Composite Material
ALPOLIC®/fr -TCM is composed of a fire-retardant mineral-filled core sandwiched between titanium and stainless steel skins. The core material is made of fire-retardant mineral-filled core (70% aluminum trihydroxide) providing unsurpassed fire-retardant benefits. The topside skin makes use of 0.3 mm thick titanium sheets and the backside skin is 0.3 mm thick high quality stainless steel. The titanium metal quickly forms a stable metal oxide film or “Passivated film”, which has unparalleled corrosion resistance. ALPOLIC®/fr-TCM is suitable for exterior cladding or building roofing purposes in a highly corrosive environment.

To cope with the lower machinability of titanium and stainless steel, special cutting and grooving methods for TCM are used. To clarify, a square shear or a CNC router for cutting, and a CNC router or a V-cut machine (planer) for grooving.
It is recommended to use stainless steel rivets for assembly. Aluminum rivets, if used for TCM panel assembly could be corroded with the galvanic corrosion. Kindly refer to the separate TCM brochure for details.
