The beloved airport of the whole country, NEW Don Mueang, is back.

April 3, 2026

Hello BFM Club members, and Facebook: Fan page. See you all again and take a look at some interesting buildings in the country. Today I would like to invite all of you to visit the beloved airport of the whole country, including the little red children. In my days, I need to travel both domestically and abroad. All the services at this airport from Bangkok are available to everyone.

This place has become one of the most important landmarks in the history of Thailand's architectural development, as it was the first international airport in the country. After the decommissioning of Spathum Khon Airport, welcome everyone to Don Mueang International Airport.

After the Great Flood of 2011, as of today, I do not believe that it was a natural disaster that caused enormous damage to our Don Mueang Airport. Many of the evacuees would have followed the news from the same time as I did, that the entire area of the airport was flooded all the way to the underside of the plane, which was not only 1-2 meters, but the flood was more than 3 meters high.

After the Great Flood had passed, the damage did not flow down the water, so once the events subsided, the government decided to repair the well-known Don Mueang Airport building, make improvements, repairs and make it more ready to return to everyone's beloved airport, which is parallel to the port. Suvarnabhumi International Airport caters to domestic travel and low-cost airlines have taken in as much space as Don Mueang used to be in the past and restored damage from last year's major floods.

Construction and repairs began at the beginning of 2012, and the official “new” Don Mueang Airport building began to be commercially reactivated on October 1, 2012. Prof. In 2012, while I'm spinning the original, it's only been a fraction of a month.

In addition to restoring the damage caused by the floods, this return also includes improvements to enhance the safety of users of the building and fully facilitate travelers according to current technology. It is a twin airport that is no less advanced than its sister airport like Suvarnabhumi. In addition, the exterior of the building has been modernized to a modern look. Aluminum composite panels are also used to decorate additional buildings. Of course, fire safety and safety in accordance with the accepted international standard, NFPA 285, are also taken into account in the selection of materials, and of course, aluminum sheets. The NFPA 285 compliant aluminum composite refractory that is used in building decoration must also be a material that can pass those stringent standards.

Thanks to the research and development focused on fire safety that Alpolic/fr has been developing over 40 years, Alpolic/FR aluminum composite panels have passed the standard and are accepted at many international airports around the world, as was previously recommended at Don Mueang Airport. Our new ones are also equipped with Alpolic/FR sheets to be used in terminal decoration. And the ability to withstand prolonged flooding is another feature that was taken into account for selection.

Due to its versatility and responsiveness in the passenger terminal area, aluminum composite panels are selected. Alpolic/FR fireproof centerpieces are used for both wall and ceiling finishes. Alpolic/FR also provides quality assurance for the FEVE Lumiflon Base paint system directly from Mitsubishi Plastics Inc.. A manufacturer based in Japan for up to 20 years. Committed to durability and long-term value, and Alpolic/FR's unique manufacturing techniques make us the only company that can provide a full 10-year warranty on sheet quality, even if the installation does not fold the edges as with a normal installation or the introduction of the sheet into the hole. It is also a matter of environmental protection or AHA. Green Cards at our ALpolic/FR can help you increase your building design score according to TREES standards in Thailand by up to 20 points.

After the official opening of the commercial airport or Don Mueang Airport, on October 1, 1940, the city of Don Mueang was officially opened. Prof. IN 2012, TRAVELLERS AND PASSENGERS FROM ALL OVER THAILAND WELCOMED THE GREAT RETURN OF DON MUEANG AIRPORT WITH DIGNITY.

What about the past works introduced in this issue, we hope that you, dear members, will have some guidance on how to use our AlPolic/fr sheet for your project. Goodbye first, see you next issue.

Interesting Don Mueang Airport History

Don Mueang Airport (formerly Bangkok International Airport), commonly known as Don Mueang Airport, is located on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Sanambin Subdistrict, Don Mueang District in the north of Bangkok. It first opened its operations on March 27, 2015. Prof. 2457, closed on September 28, 1945. Prof. In 2006, on the same day that Suvarnabhumi Airport was activated by Don Mueang Airport, it was converted into a place for aircraft repair, flight training and for the parking of private aircraft of important persons from March 25, 2006. Prof. In 2007, some domestic flights were brought down at Don Mueang International Airport after several problems were encountered at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Since the decommissioning of Sapathum Airport, part of the Royal Athletics Club Stadium, which is considered the first airport in Thailand due to its cramped, limited space and poor geographical location, the government has come up with a new location with a large area, a non-flooded area not far from Phra Nakhon and an area that can be further developed into a large airport. In the future, with Colonel Phra Chalerm Khaem, the chief of the first batch of pilots in Thailand, who later received the royal title and last honoured as Air Chief Petty Officer, Phraya Chalermair, served as a key force in the search for the right space to be built. Permanent airports

The aerial survey showed that the area, which is Don in the north of Bang Khen district, was a suitable area. It was discovered that the area was known by the locals as “Don Yiao” because of the large flocks of hawks flying in the area. There is also a northern railway line running through the area. It takes about 13 minutes to fly north from Sra Pathum Airport (on a Breguet plane), a distance of about 22 kilometers. The area was inhabited by several owners, such as the Mann of Mae Haan Jaiaj (Phu Jamramman), where he had a large number of estates. He gave part of the land to be built as a temple at that time. The locals called it “Wat Don Yiao”. Later, a flying detachment was established at this area and was called “Don Mueang”. The temple is also called “Wat Don Mueang” after the airport. It also houses the estates of Phraya Ramantean and several other Rats, some of which are the lands of the Royal Railway Department. Colonel Phra Chalermair reported in order to establish a permanent airport in the area, so the Ministry of Defence has procured some, requested some restitution and donated some to the government.

On February 23, 2018. Prof. In 1940, the Army's Gaikai Regiment completed the operation, handed it over to the Army Corps of Engineers and renamed the airport “Don Mueang Airport.”

On March 27, 2018 Prof. In 1947, the Ministry of Defence issued an order to establish an Army Air Corps and move it to its permanent location at Don Mueang Airport. This was the foundation of Thailand's aviation activities. At this point, the Air Force held March 27 as the Air Force Memorial Day. Prof. In 1940, the Air Force established a Civil Aviation Division, operating on inter-country aviation, and in 1945. Prof. In 1949, the Department of Civil Aviation was upgraded to Don Mueang Airport and renamed Don Mueang Airport as an international airport until June 21, 1941. Prof. In 1898 it was renamed Bangkok International Airport (English: Bangkok Airport later changed to Bangkok International Airport).

Later, on July 1, 1945. Prof. In 2002, the National Airports Authority of Thailand was established. As a result, Don Mueang Airport, belonging to the Department of Civil Aviation, the Air Force, had to be transferred to the Department of Civil Aviation, to be transferred to Tot. substituted

But when all commercial flights were moved to Suvarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan province, on September 28, 1945. Prof. In 2006, services for all commercial flights were halted. The last international flight departing from Don Mueang Airport belonged to Qantas Australia. However, in February 2006, the airport was closed. Prof. In 2007, when General Surayut Julanon became Prime Minister, there was a need to open another round of services at Don Mueang Airport due to the various problems encountered at Suvarnabhumi Airport and to expand and improve the efficiency of Don Mueang Airport in order to make it more flexible. The aviation system, in addition to commercial aviation, has been reopened for another round of operations and reinstated the name Don Mueang International Airport as of March 25, 2015.
